This is a piece of crap. I bought BARK Off for the neighbors 2 barking dogs. What a total waste of money! I would NOT recommend it to anyone. The only thing it works for is to fatten someone's pocket with another piece of junk!

I bought mine at Target about 10.00I was hoping it would work on my crazy sheltie, but like others said the tv and other loud noises must set it off my beagle got scared and shaking ran outside and wouldnt come in i took the battery out and put it so he couldnt see it, then he came in. But the sheltie I really dont know she kept on barking but the beagle who I had no problems with was affraid of it. So I really didnt find out. Next I will take it in the car with me when she rides with me. lets see. Hope it was a help for anyone.

I received my bark-Off and at first it seemed to work ok, but after a while the effect wore off. I build a small circuit to amplify the shock and added it to the collar. Now Fluffy twinges a bit when she barks, but she certainly barks less now! Thanks Bark Off!!

for the first month I had this I thought I was in heaven - but somewhere during the 4 & 5th week, my min-pin decided it was easy to ignore the sound and bard at will again... so back to the old torture days of barking at all things that move or that can be heard within a block of the house... oh well, it was worth a try, and we did have one really, really nice month

I bought this product and tried to hide it from dog. He found it and chewed it up now he barks even louder and looks at me while he is doing it. I think this product should be reviewed again.

If you people can't train your dogs without using torture devices such as thins, then you should NOT have dogs. This is the third time I've tried to post this, so the site is obviously open only to positive comments..

There must be a better way to order Bark Off than over the phone. It's an excruciating experience, listening to all of the extra offers when all you want is a couple of the devices. Be prepared to spend 15 min saying NO to all the extras....yikes...my ear is red !

@al - in the long run it should NOT hurt your dogs ears, it just a load sound to tell them not to do something. Its a training aid, not something you just put in a room and leave on.

I bought this product, I have four dogs that run to the door and bark a lot. After installing this by my front door it seemed to work. But for one of my poodles was hiding in the back bedroom quivering and shaking his head. He wouldnt stop until I turnned the bark off to the OFF position. It worked great on three of my dogs. Just becarefull and watch for signs of Pain.

please note that BARK OFF does NOT distinguish between dogs barking and people talking! if you leave it on, it will continue to make the noise and your dogs will be miserable. if you only turn it on when they start barking and then turn it off when the situation is over, it actually works REALLY well

Working range for Bark Off is 20-30 feet but Bark Off can easily fit in your pocket and you can carry them anywhere with you.

My dogs have not barked since I installed the device, however, a new symptom has surfaced. My dog seems to be skitish and her playful self has changed, she hides under the bed. I don't know if this device is sending something out silently that is changing her personality. Is this possible?
She hasn't barked so I assume the bark off is working? Please advise.

@Carolina Your dog might get confused if the fencing system uses sound to alert your dog. With either system, it gets your dogs attention, and that is what stops the barking. I do believe most fencing system its a small electric shock that that warns them of the perimeter not a sound.

I have an invisible fence at home, so my dog already wears a sound collar. Would she be confused by the bark off collar?

@Vanessa The Bark Off appears to work like the dog whistle, it emits a high pitch sound and get your dogs attention which causes your dog to stop barking.

I just revieved this in the mail, and after having used it for about 4 weeks I notcied a common trend.
Whenever the Bark Off went off he got an erection and tried to "mount" me, my friends, and inanimate objects.
It stopped him from barking though.

Does this product work well? I work out of a home office, and have to keep my two from barking during the day when I'm on calls. Also, is it better to order by phone, via the web? Some comments say to beware, this is a rip-off?? Please advise, anyone. Thanks

The bark off works great while camping. Our dog use to bark at everything while camping. Now our dog only barks at people he doesn't know. Which is fine to me, I do not like strangers in our camping site.

We watched the bark off commercial and thought we could use that. We ordered and have had it about two weeks now. This as stopped our dogs from barking for no reason at all. It has also calmed him down when we go for walks. So far so good...only time will tell.
