![]() Backyard Buddy Pad - Potty Pad Review
The Backyard Buddy Pad - $29.99 + P&HThe other night while watching TV was the first time I had heard of a device that feels like grass for the inside of your home or apartment. After seeing the doggie pad, I had to order me a set. I say a set cause I have two dogs(Lucky and Jake). After five(5) days our indoor pet potty arrived. It was really easy to setup, just place the pieces on top of each other and there you go. We put one pad next to the main door, and the other pad next to the balcony door. That way they are out of the way and very easy for the dogs to get too. So the first thing you have to do is re-train your dogs to use the Backyard Buddy. I found this to be pretty easy, to them it feels like they are outside, but not really. After a few weeks they had no problem using the pad, when they remember too. Experiment Number One For the first week we trained Lucky get use to the indoor potty pad next to the balcony door. She had no problem using it to urinate on. She usually goes to the balcony door when she wants outside so she saw the backyard potty pad and started using it. After about a week she has started using the indoor potty pad 8 out 10 bathroom runs. Not bad I guess...I call that a success. Experiment Number Two After Lucky it was Jacks turn, Jake likes to go out through the main apartment doors so we put his indoor potty next to that. We thought this was going to be easy... WRONG. Just cause you put it there doesn't mean he will use it. Jake seems to be a little more stubborn when it comes to using the Backyard Buddy. We had to go to the local sports store and buy a synthetic dirt smellinig spray, before he would use the potty pad. After we showed him several times on how to use the pad, he would always end up peeing on the trim next to the pad. A very bad thing. I ended up going out side and getting a log to put on the side of the backyard buddy and he has started peeing on the log. Which is better than the wall trim. Conclusion and Thoughts I would recommend buying this for your dog. It has saved our house many messes through out the day while we are away at work. I would not recommend this to anyone with a larger dog, I would say anything over 25lbs is too big. We change the water tray every 2 days (recommend or you will spill it), and our dogs are 3 lbs(Jake) and 9 lbs(Lucky). You still have to remove the feces manually. Over all not bad for $29.99 dollars. Click Here to Buy Backyard Buddy Pad - Potty Pad
