Apples and Oranges. The commercial starts out touting the qualities of the real coin and reminding us the price of gold has headed upward over recent times. True, but irrelevant for a decision to "invest" in the item being advertised. What is being sold is an altered base metal coin CLAD with "pure" 24 K gold. The layer of gold is at best, miniscule, and worthless. I dont think the ad is misleading unless you dont listen carefully. In general, if you want to "invest" in coins, or bullion, never order from TV ads, or the Home Shopping Network, etc. HSN has excellent pitchmen. Instead, go to a reputable coinshop and buy the real coin.

If you just want the "coin" for a keepsake and not an investment, well... still extremely overpriced.
As an investment, this thing is totally WORTHLESS! The commercials try to give you the impression that it has value, by repeating "pure gold" or "24k" gold, and then they whisper "clad".
If this thing cost more than 25cents to make (including all base metals, stamping, and shipping), I'd be surprised.
Do yourself a favor, invest in REAL gold or silver, and not just some cheap gold plated copy.

What a scam! This bogus "coin" has about 60 cents worth of gold (at $1300 per ounce)...like P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute)

if the coin says $50 on it then why couldnt you spend it at a store and get $50 worth of merchandise?

i bought mine for only 9.95 which enabled me to purchase more than one so it was a low low cost for me. if you are looking to buy a recreate gold buffalo coin then these are for you. However, THESE COINS ARE NOT PURE GOLD! you must relize that you cannot buy the real gold coins for only 19.95 or whatever if the asking price is marked way below the current market price of gold. Beaware that the copies will and should state "clad" meaning it is only coated with a thin layer of gold over a bronze coin and also it is missing the approved real mint stamps that the original would have. If you want the real deal then be prepared to spend over a thousand dollars for one and hopefully the price of gold will go up and you can sit back and reap the rewards! overall it is a mighty fine copy.
important tip: always deal with PHYSICAL gold and find a trustworthy safe haven that you have easy access to.
rumor: gold prices should be rocketing up within 2 yrs from the date this was posted. So start stacking up!!

The coin isn't even worth the 19.95 that your paying for, the coin has a value of only 1.21 save your money and do not buy this coin, also it says copy right on the front.
